Description

The experience of the Mayan Underworld is a personalized guided tour that includes a FREE Mayan Ceremony from Wednesday-Sunday.

In this experience, you will be led by our certified knowledgable guides through a place full of history, where great events of the Mayan culture took place and live to tell their story on each stone. You will discover a part of the Mayan Mythology through the Legend of Xibalbá and its 9 levels to the Mayan Underworld in the company of our guide, at level 7, you will be part of a Mayan Purification Ceremony with a Xaman from the region, and Later descend to the eighth and ninth level of the Mayan Underworld, in which, with a purified body, you can immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters of a sacred cenote.

On the journey to the Mayan underworld you will experience:

A guided tour with a group limited to 20 people
A Mayan ceremony
Swim in cenote
If transportation is desired, the departure is from Valladolid.

For this guided tour it is necessary to come with comfortable clothing, sandals, or comfortable walking shoes that will enable you to walk among gravel and the wooden corridors inside the cavern. This is a highly comfortable descent made within platforms and steps of maximum 18 cm in height which makes for a smooth and easy journey for seniors.

Zazil Tunich has allied with the Mayan community and the Strengthening of Families Association so that everything they produce can be part of our project: hammocks, honey, handicrafts, as well as organic products for the preparation of our Mayan Cuisine.
