Description

In this experience, you will be led by our certified knowledgable guides through a place full of history, where great events of the Mayan culture took place and live to tell their story on each stone. You will discover a part of the Mayan Mythology through the Legend of Xibalbá and its 9 levels to the Mayan Underworld in the company of our guide, at level 7, you will be part of a Mayan Purification Ceremony with a Xaman from the region, and Later descend to the eighth and ninth level of the Mayan Underworld, in which, with a purified body, you will encounter the crystal clear waters of the sacred cenote and a table decorated with candles and flowers. You and your partner have the freedom to choose whether to have dinner or swim first.

For this guided tour it is necessary to come with comfortable clothing, sandals, or comfortable walking shoes that will enable you to walk among gravel and the wooden corridors inside the cavern. This is a highly comfortable descent made within platforms and steps of maximum 18 cm in height which makes for a smooth and easy journey for seniors.

Zazil Tunich has allied with the Mayan community and the Strengthening of Families Association so that everything they produce can be part of our project: hammocks, honey, handicrafts, as well as organic products for the preparation of our Mayan Cuisine.
